Anna Szepieniec has been named the Alfreeda Goff Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, according to an announcement by the Horizon League on Friday.

Szepieniec is now the fifth athlete from Milwaukee to receive this recognition in the past seven years. The university has had a recipient of this award each season for seven consecutive years, following previous honorees Anelise Egge (2025), Natalie Block (2022–24), Meg Swietlik (2021), and Ashley Melvin (2020, shared).

During the season, Szepieniec set a new program record in the long jump at the 13th annual Tierney Classic with a leap of 6.30 meters, surpassing Samia Taylor’s 2013 mark of 6.06 meters. She later improved her own record at the Panther Tune-Up in the Klotsche Center with a jump of 6.31 meters.

She appears throughout Milwaukee’s all-time top-10 lists: first in both long jump (6.31m) and pentathlon (3864 points), second in the 60-meter hurdles (8.45 seconds), third in the 200-meter dash (24.68 seconds), and fifth in triple jump (12.45m).

At the conference level, Szepieniec leads in four events: 60-meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and pentathlon. She is also ranked fourth in the 200-meter dash and tenth in high jump.

The Horizon League recognized her performance during the season with five weekly honors: three as Women’s Runner of the Week on December 16, January 13, and February 10; and two as Women’s Field Athlete of the Week on January 20 and January 27.

The Milwaukee Panthers women’s track and field team competes both indoors and outdoors throughout their season as part of NCAA Division I athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The team participates in Horizon League events while supporting student-athletes’ academic responsibilities. Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it continues to contribute to the university’s athletic tradition.
