Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs is inviting area residents to attend the back-toschool shoe giveaway hosted by Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church this Saturday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at 2412 N. 6th St. Students who attend the event will be given a free pair of shoes to help them get ready for the upcoming school year. Students must be present to receive shoes, and shoes will be given away on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. The event is open to school-aged children of all ages.

In addition to shoes, there will be community partners on site including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Marquette Upward Bound, the Social Development Commission, and Safe and Sound to provide resources to students and families.

“With the new school year right around the corner, it is important that children be set up for success and a new pair of shoes can go a long way,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “I want to thank Ephesians Missionary Baptist Church for hosting this event in the district, and I encourage all area families to stop by and take advantage of this opportunity.”
