Rep. Barbara Dittrich, a Republican elected in 2025 to represent Wisconsin’s 99th House district, used her Twitter account over Memorial Day weekend and the following days to address both remembrance of veterans and recent legislative developments.
On May 25, Dittrich marked Memorial Day by sharing reflections on the significance of the holiday and referencing a speech by Jason Church: “It was a most meaningful Memorial Day remembering our fallen and, as Jason Church so aptly reminded in his speech, remembering those who lose their lives to veteran suicide once they come home from the battlefield. #MemorialDay #LandOfTheFreeBecauseOfTheBrave #NeverForget https://t.co/NOHhMVcb1k”.
Turning to legislative matters on May 26, Dittrich discussed public reaction following a special session held on May 13. She noted ongoing questions about the fate of a compromise bill with the governor, “Everywhere I go since our May 13th special session, people on both sides of the aisle are asking me, ‘Why didn’t the compromise bill with the governor pass?’ After I make them aware that I voted for it, my answer is always the same, ‘Call and write your senator!’ Our Republican https://t.co/m1cWzb24nR”.
Later that day, Dittrich responded to constituent inquiries regarding voting records related to the compromise bill. She provided specific details about Assembly and Senate votes: “I had a constituent ask me yesterday at the VFW who voted for the compromise bill, and who voted against it. The votes in the Assembly are pictured here. In the Senate, every Democrat voted against it along with Republicans Hutton, Kapenga, and Nass. For what it’s worth, this https://t.co/s8wq1eM3Ta”.
Dittrich succeeded Cindi Duchow as representative for Wisconsin’s 99th House district after being elected in 2025.
