A blood drive will be held at the Oconomowoc VA Outpatient Clinic, located at 1289 Olympia Fields Drive. The event is organized by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin and is open to both Veterans and the public. Those interested in donating can register online or call 877-232-4376, with walk-ins accepted if space permits.
Donors are advised to eat a healthy meal at least an hour before giving blood and stay hydrated. They should also bring identification that includes their name and birthdate, such as a driver’s license or government-issued ID.
The blood drive aims to address a seasonal drop in donations during summer months, while demand for blood remains high for trauma patients, cancer treatments, surgeries, and other needs. It also seeks to raise awareness about the Oconomowoc clinic, which began operations in June 2024. Veterans living in the Lake Country area are encouraged to enroll for care at this location. Those currently traveling to Milwaukee or other clinics have the option to transfer their care to Oconomowoc by calling 414-384-2000, ext. 44255.
The clinic is part of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Health Care System based in Milwaukee. Services offered include primary care, mental health support, women’s health services, telehealth options, and more. Information about the clinic can be found on its website.
