Danilo Jovanovich announced on Apr. 29 that he will return to play his final season of college basketball with the Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team.

Jovanovich had a strong season before being sidelined by injury, achieving career-high numbers in several categories. His decision to come back is expected to provide stability and leadership for the team as they prepare for the next campaign.

Head coach Bart Lundy said, “We are thrilled to announce that Danilo Jovanovich will be returning for the Panthers for his final year. D-Lo is one of my favorite players that I’ve ever coached in my career. His ability on the court and his personality off the court make not only our team, but our program and university and city better. I believe he will have an amazing senior year. And with our other seniors, give us a core of terrific leadership and ability.”

Jovanovich started all 17 games he played this past winter before undergoing surgery in mid-January. He averaged 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, was second on the team in both categories, shot nearly 60 percent from the field, and added three-point shooting to his skill set while averaging over 30 minutes per game.

The Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team is affiliated with the Horizon League in NCAA Division I according to the official website. The program represents University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics according to their official website and operates from Milwaukee, Wisconsin as noted by university sources.

As Jovanovich returns alongside other seniors, observers expect him to play a key role both on and off the court during his final collegiate season.
