FOIA Request to City Of Milwaukee Election Commission Regarding Vote Batches Counted in 2024 Election on November 11, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at the Milwaukee City Wire have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a comprehensive list of all vote batches counted in the recent 2024 election.

The requested records should include specific details such as the arrival time of each batch, the total number of ballots included in each batch, and a breakdown of total votes by race for each ballot batch. We believe that these records will provide crucial insights into the voting process and contribute to transparency in our democratic system.

Given our role as a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As such, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.

We await response from the City Of Milwaukee Election Commission and will continue to keep our readers updated on this matter.
