FOIA Request to Milwaukee County Treasurer’s Office Regarding Property Tax Records 2024 – Present on May 12, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local governmental affairs, Milwaukee City Wire has submitted a formal request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law. We are seeking access to property tax records for properties within Milwaukee County for the year 2024 and any available data for 2025. Specifically, we have requested details including Parcel ID, Year, Tax Value, and Assessed Value.

This request is crucial for our mission to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage. Access to these public records will enable us to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency in governmental actions. As members of the media, we believe this request qualifies for a fee waiver due to its importance in informing the public.

Our efforts are supported by The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting media companies and advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies. Through leveraging Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws, we aim to illuminate government actions and inform the American electorate effectively.

We await a response from the Milwaukee County Treasurer’s Office and remain committed to keeping our readers informed about developments in this matter.
