How many companies in cities across Washington County received FDA citations in 2024?

There were four companies in a city associated with Washington County that received FDA citations as a result of five inspections conducted in the county throughout 2024, according to reports from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This is a 42.9% decrease from the number of companies cited in the previous year.

The citations in the county include:

• You did not conduct operations under conditions and controls necessary to minimize the potential for allergen cross-contact.
• You did not inspect, segregate, or otherwise handle raw materials and ingredients used in manufacturing under conditions that will protect the animal food against contamination and minimize deterioration.
• You did not take adequate measures to significantly minimize or prevent the growth of undesirable microorganisms in your animal food.

All of the companies cited should take voluntary actions to correct their managing operations.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.
