Jake Hansen has signed with the Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball program and will transfer to play in the upcoming season, head coach Bart Lundy announced on May 4.
Hansen, a guard from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, spent last winter playing at Oklahoma before joining the Panthers. The move is notable as he returns to his home state to compete for a team that represents University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics and competes in NCAA Division I as part of the Horizon League, according to the official website.
“We are excited to add Jake to our program,” Lundy said. “He is a high-character individual with a tremendous work ethic who adds toughness and shooting to our team. Being from the area, he is another player who will have tremendous pride in wearing the Milwaukee jersey.”
Hansen attended Wauwatosa West High School where he led his team to a state championship in 2025 by making key free throws during an overtime win against Racine Park. He was recognized as a three-star recruit by both 247Sports and On3 and was ranked among the top prospects in Wisconsin. His senior year saw him average 18.4 points per game while maintaining strong shooting percentages across all categories.
Throughout his high school career, Hansen scored over 1,500 points and set several records at Wauwatosa West including most three-pointers made in a single season and most free throws made without a miss in one game. He held offers from multiple programs such as Arizona State, Buffalo, and St. John’s before choosing Oklahoma after high school.
The Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team operates out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin according to its official website.
