Milwaukee men’s basketball associate head coach Jake Williams has been invited to attend the Silver Waves Media Power Lunch at this year’s NCAA Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis, according to a Mar. 19 announcement.
The event, now in its fourth year, will be held on April 2 at IU Indianapolis and brings together 75 rising assistant or head men’s basketball coaches from across the country for industry programming and networking opportunities. Williams, who also serves as Milwaukee’s recruiting coordinator, was previously named among the “100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coaches and GMs” earlier this year.
During his tenure with Milwaukee, Williams has played a key role in recruiting and developing several standout players. These include BJ Freeman, who earned All Horizon-League Second Team Honors in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons; Ahmad Rand, recognized as the 2022-23 Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year; Faizon Fields, a member of the 2023-24 Horizon League All-Tournament Team; Jamichael Stillwell, awarded both Newcomer of the Year and All-League First Team Honors for 2024-25; and Themus Fulks, who received All Horizon-League Second Team Honors for 2024-25.
Since it began, the Silver Waves Media Power Lunch has connected top assistant coaches with athletic directors, sport supervisors, and leading search firms in college athletics. According to organizers, dozens of attendees have gone on to become Division I head coaches. The event is hosted by Ryan Silver and is considered an important opportunity for collegiate coaches seeking professional growth.
