The Milwaukee Panthers swim and dive teams continued their participation at the Horizon League Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, competing inside the IU Natatorium. At the midpoint of the four-day event, the women’s team is in second place with 231 points, while the men’s team holds fourth place with 155.5 points.
On day two, Gabrielle LePine led the women’s team by winning her second title of the meet in the 50 freestyle. She set a new program record with a time of 22.74 seconds, surpassing Mandie Siehs’ previous mark from 2017. The women’s team also won the 200 freestyle relay with LePine, Brielle Laube, Mara Freeman, and Christiana Brooks finishing in 1:31.77.
Brooks achieved third place in the 50 freestyle with a personal-best time of 23.00 seconds. Erika Thomas finished fourth in the 200 individual medley final with a career-best time of 2:03.37, followed by Natalie DiProspero in sixth at 2:05.20.
For the men’s team, Sam Lorenz set a new program record in the 50 freestyle by finishing third at 19.61 seconds. Gunnar Seversen established another program best during his third-place finish in the 500 freestyle at 4:22.36.
The men’s relay squad—Lorenz, Caleb Carlisle, Charlie House, and Seversen—set a new school standard for the 200 freestyle relay at 1:19.00, improving on last year’s record held by House, Jackson Ahrens, Carlisle, and Ben Lorenz.
Freshman Emre Arican recorded a first-year program best in the men’s 200 individual medley with a time of 1:50.62.
In diving events for Milwaukee’s men’s team, Will Francis was top finisher for his squad on day two after placing ninth on one-meter springboard with a score of 252.30.
Competition continues Friday morning as day three begins at IU Natatorium; all events are available to stream on ESPN+.
The Milwaukee Panthers Women’s Swimming and Diving Team represents the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as part of NCAA Division I competition within the Horizon League and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The program supports student-athletes’ academic pursuits alongside athletics and contributes to enhancing both seasonal competition and university sports heritage through its collegiate athletic structure.
