James Carpenter, a teacher at Milwaukee Area Technical College, donated $200 to Democratic Party candidate Rohit Khanna, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $5,541 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Milwaukee Area Technical College as of November 3. Approximately 98.6 percent, or $5,463, of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

James Carpenter’s contribution of $4,226 to Democratic Party Bernard Sanders was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Milwaukee Area Technical College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
