The Milwaukee men’s soccer program hosted a TOPSoccer clinic on April 15, welcoming young athletes with disabilities to participate in the event.
The clinic was attended by student-athletes and staff from the Milwaukee Panthers men’s soccer program. It was open to all registered TOPSoccer Wisconsin participants. The event aimed to offer opportunities for children aged 8-19 with mental or physical disabilities to learn and play soccer in an inclusive environment.
TOPSoccer is described as a community-based training and team placement initiative organized by youth soccer association volunteers. Its goal is “to enable thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successful members of the US Youth Soccer family.”
The Milwaukee Panthers men’s soccer program operates from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and competes as part of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics, according to the official website. The team participates in Horizon League and non-conference matches as a collegiate athletic endeavor under NCAA Division I. The program also contributes to the athletic tradition at the university while helping student-athletes balance academics and athletics, according to the official website.
