Braylon Walker has joined the Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team and will play in the upcoming season, head coach Bart Lundy announced on Apr. 28.
Walker’s addition comes after a successful four-year varsity career at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Illinois. He scored over 1,000 points and was part of a school-record 106 victories as a four-year starter. During his time there, he helped secure three regional titles, two sectional crowns, and one super-sectional title for his team.
“We are excited about the addition of Braylon to our program,” Lundy said. “Braylon is a two-way player who not only can score the basketball but also is a tremendous defender. He is a high-character young man and an excellent student. What we love best about Braylon is his motivation to be great.”
Walker stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 180 pounds. As a senior, he led the Blue Devils to a 30-4 record and earned Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Special Mention All-State honors after scoring a career-high 33 points in the Class 4A sectional semifinal game. He averaged 14.9 points, 5.9 assists, 3.4 steals, and led his team with 5.9 rebounds per game last winter.
He was named to the Daily Herald Lake County Boys Basketball All-Area Team and earned First Team North Suburban All-Conference recognition after contributing significantly to Warren Township’s perfect conference record of 14-0 during their regular-season championship run.
The Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball team represents University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics according to the official website. The program competes in NCAA Division I as part of the Horizon League according to their official website and operates from Milwaukee, Wisconsin as noted on their official site.
Looking ahead, Walker’s arrival adds depth to Milwaukee’s roster as they prepare for another season competing at the Division I level.
