Milwaukee Panthers men’s soccer adds three freshmen for upcoming season

Timo Schroeder from Berlin, Germany, along with Ben Bausch and Katahdin Huwiler of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, have signed to join the Milwaukee Panthers men’s soccer team for the upcoming fall season.

Head coach Kris Kelderman commented on the new additions: “We are thrilled to have three true freshmen of such high caliber to be joining us in the fall. Three players that we feel can impact our program immediately. All three fit some needs that we had targeted in our group. We are excited to get them here to join the Panther Family and get the ball rolling!”

Schroeder has family ties at Milwaukee, as his sister Svava is a member of the women’s tennis team. Huwiler will play alongside his brother Felix on the men’s soccer squad.

Schroeder arrives as a winger/fullback standing 6’1″ and weighing 170 pounds. He has spent seven years training in Bundesliga academies with Union Berlin and Hansa Rostock and has made over 20 appearances in Germany’s Youth Bundesliga. Schroeder is also a two-time Mecklenburg-Vorpommern State Champion.

Bausch joins as a forward at 6’3″ and 178 pounds from Marquette High School and FC Wisconsin. His accolades include being named United Soccer Coaches High School All-American, United Soccer Coaches All-Great Lakes Region, Wisconsin Soccer Coaches First-Team All-State, two-time Greater All-Metro First-Team All-Conference selection, two-time conference leading goal-scorer, MaxPreps.com No. 5 ranked player in state, and part of the 2025 WIAA DI Boys Soccer State Runners-up.

Huwiler comes in as a defender standing 6’2″ and weighing 180 pounds from Marquette High School/FC Wisconsin. He was recognized as Wisconsin Soccer Coaches First-Team All-State, United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region selection, and is a two-time Greater All-Metro First-Team All-Conference honoree.

The Milwaukee Panthers men’s soccer program competes at NCAA Division I level within the Horizon League and is part of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee athletics. The team participates in both conference and non-conference matches while supporting student-athletes academically and athletically (https://mkepanthers.com/sports/mens-soccer).
