The Milwaukee men’s basketball team has announced a game against Wisconsin for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The Panthers and Badgers are scheduled to play on December 30, 2025, in Madison, Wisconsin. Details about the game time and broadcast will be shared later.
This marks the first regular-season matchup between these teams since December 21, 2019. Milwaukee head coach Bart Lundy expressed gratitude towards Wisconsin’s program and Coach Gard for agreeing to this game. “This contest will be terrific for Panther fans and for all basketball fans in the state of Wisconsin,” Lundy stated. He emphasized the excitement surrounding the renewal of this in-state rivalry.
The two teams have a history dating back to Milwaukee’s NCAA Division I era in the 1992-93 season. They played annually from 1992 through 2015, with Milwaukee securing a narrow victory at the Kohl Center in December 2015. The rivalry was briefly renewed in November 2017 before their last encounter in December 2019.
Milwaukee men’s basketball season ticket holders and donors to Milwaukee Athletics will have limited access to tickets within the Panthers’ block for this game at the Kohl Center. Further details will be communicated via email on July 9.
