The Milwaukee Panthers track and field teams recorded several personal bests and event wins on April 10 at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina, and the Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

These performances highlight the ongoing efforts of the Panthers to excel during both indoor and outdoor meets throughout their season, according to the official website. The team represents the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as part of its athletic tradition.

Head coach Andrew Basler said, “While we only competed in five events today, those who competed took advantage of their opportunity.” Olivia VanZeeland won her second high jump title this season with a season-best mark of 1.74 meters. Basler added praise for Natalie Block’s showing: “In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Natalie finished prelims as the top collegiate athlete in a field of 55.” Block placed third overall with a time that leads all competitors in the Horizon League this year.

Katie Burns ran a personal best in the women’s 100-meter dash with a time that ranks eighth all-time for Milwaukee. Basler said, “Burns led the way with a personal best of 12.07. Levenhagen and Roloff were not far behind.” In throwing events at Marquette, Jade Sok and Kara Meeteer set lifetime bests in javelin while Mercedes Herrera and Claudia Conner did so in hammer throw.

On the men’s side at Duke, Sam Schreiber posted his own milestone by running sixth place in steeplechase—his time is now third-fastest ever for Milwaukee—and Harper Fahey ran a season-best time in his event. According to Basler: “Our day concluded with Harper in the 1500-meter and Sam in his 2026 3000-meter Steeplechase debut… Sam blazed to a 22 second lifetime best.”

The Panthers compete as an NCAA Division I program within the Horizon League according to their official website. The team operates from Milwaukee where it supports student-athletes balancing academics alongside athletics.

Looking ahead, Milwaukee will continue participation at both invitationals on Saturday as they seek further achievements across upcoming events.
