Milwaukee Recreation is currently seeking part-time enrichment instructors to lead activities at its community centers. These positions offer opportunities for individuals interested in working with both youth and adults across various program areas, including sports, dance, cooking, and languages. Classes are scheduled for evenings and Saturdays throughout the city.
Instructor Shantell Riley shared her experience, stating, “I love seeing people smile. There’s so much that we carry day to day, and when [participants] come into this space and they’re interacting with each other, it’s like the concerns and the cares from before they came just go somewhere, and they’re allowed to be present and enjoy themselves. That’s just an amazing feeling.”
The organization is looking for candidates with at least 1-2 years of teaching or instructing experience. However, those new to teaching are also encouraged to apply. Hourly pay rates will depend on education, certification, and experience.
Another instructor, Aimee Guzman, expressed her enthusiasm: “I feel so lucky, and I’m really proud of the job that I have. My hope is to bring in families as early as possible and get them in love with Milwaukee Recreation and all we provide, just like it happened for me.”
