The Milwaukee swim and dive team announced on Apr. 7 that six of its athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for this year.

This recognition highlights both athletic and academic achievements for the student-athletes, reflecting their ability to balance competitive sports with rigorous studies. The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Swimming and Diving Team assists student-athletes in balancing their educational and athletic responsibilities, according to the official website.

Among those honored are Mara Freeman, Natalie DiProspero, Christiana Brooks, and Nadia Switalski from the women’s squad. Andrew Jones and Alvin Valkki represent the men’s team. Freeman earned her third CSC honor after contributing to three winning relay teams at the 2026 Horizon League Championships while maintaining a perfect GPA in accounting. DiProspero received her first CSC nod following multiple finals appearances at conference meets as a nursing major with a 4.00 GPA. Brooks also achieved her first career CSC accolade after setting a school record in the 100 freestyle; she majors in biological science with a perfect GPA as well.

Switalski was recognized for reaching finals in breaststroke events at conference championships while holding a 4.00 GPA as a nursing major. On the men’s side, Jones earned his second consecutive CSC honor after setting school records in breaststroke events during his graduate studies in business administration with a perfect GPA. Valkki rounded out male honorees by achieving personal bests this season; he holds a 3.79 GPA while studying data analytics.

The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Swimming and Diving Team participates in NCAA Division I athletics within the Horizon League according to their official website, competing during its season through various meets across Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The team is part of Panthers athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and contributes to its athletic traditions.

Looking ahead, these recognitions underscore how student-athletes can excel both academically and athletically while representing their university.
