The Milwaukee track and field team received three Horizon League weekly awards, the league office announced on Apr. 14.

These recognitions highlight the team’s strong performances in recent competitions and their standing within the conference. The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Track and Field Team competes in NCAA Division I as part of the Horizon League, according to the official website.

Sam Schreiber earned his first outdoor track and field weekly award after a notable steeplechase run at the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina. He recorded a time of 9:04.14, which is now third-fastest in program history and ranks him second in the Horizon League for that event. Natalie Block was named Runner of the Week for her second outdoor season honor after two standout performances at Duke. She finished among the top three in the 100-meter hurdle prelims with a time of 13.23 seconds and took second place in the 400-meter hurdles with a finish of 57.12 seconds, holding leading times in both events within the conference.

Anna Szepieniec was recognized as Women’s Field Athlete of the Week following two top-five finishes at Duke. In long jump, she placed fourth with a leap of 6.12 meters—currently ranking second all-time for Milwaukee—and first among Horizon League competitors this season. Szepieniec also finished fifth in triple jump with an effort measuring 11.89 meters.

The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Track and Field Team participates in both indoor and outdoor meets throughout their season according to their official website, contributing to athletic tradition at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as reported by their site as well. The team supports student-athletes balancing academics and athletics while operating from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Looking ahead, select athletes will compete next at either Indiana State’s Gibson Invitational or Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Phil Esten Challenge.
