Anna Szepieniec was named Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after breaking her school’s long jump record with a leap of 6.35 meters at Louisville’s Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Open. Her performance surpassed a previous record set in 2013 by Samia Taylor. Szepieniec is currently ranked first in the Horizon League for long jump and tied for twenty-third nationally among NCAA Division I athletes for this event.

Josh Cygan earned Men’s Field Athlete of the Week following his victory in discus throw at the same meet with a distance of 52.86 meters. Both Szepieniec and Cygan have each received their second field nods during this outdoor season.
