The Milwaukee track and field teams are set to continue their indoor season at the Meyo Invite this weekend, hosted by Notre Dame. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Indiana.

On Friday, the meet will commence at 2:00 p.m. with events such as the long jump and shot put, alongside men’s pole vault and high jump. Running events are scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m., featuring qualifiers for the 60m dash and hurdles. Saturday’s schedule begins with the 3000m run at 9:00 a.m., followed by field events like the triple jump starting at 10:30 a.m. The final rounds of running events will be broadcast live from 1:00 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.

In their last outing at the Tierney Classic on January 25, hosted by Milwaukee, both men’s and women’s teams achieved notable performances.

For the men’s team, Jaelyn Reeves-Lile stood out with victories in multiple sprints, setting school records in the 60m dash (6.76) and 300m dash (34.10), along with a top-10 time in the 200m dash (21.61). Iyimi Fagbamiye also made an impact with a strong performance in the 60m dash (6.94). Other notable achievements included EJ Kruse’s win in the 200m (23.01), Nathan Taylor’s first-place finish in the 400m (51.73), Nate Griepentrog’s victory in the mile run (4:15.96), Jeremiah Johnson’s win in weight throw (15.66m), Aiden Janke’s shot put success (13.66m), and Caden Thomas’ high jump clearance of 2.05m.

The women’s team was led by Anna Szepieniec, who excelled in both triple jump (11.78m) and long jump (5.94m). Dominique Thomas claimed victory in the 60m dash with a time of 7.60, while Katie Burns secured second place with a personal best of 7.76 seconds. Angelica Refinski topped her competition in the 200m dash clocking at 25.99 seconds.

In distance events, Anelise Egge won the 800m race (2:15.51) while Cailin Kinas triumphed in the mile run (5:04.57). Freshman Hailey Soriaga impressed by winning pole vault clearing a height of 3.45 meters, placing her seventh all-time for Milwaukee’s record books; Kallie Volk also performed well tying for fourth place all-time after clearing heights up to around approximately about nearly one meter seventy centimeters tall during her respective event high-jump competition session too!

The Panthers’ next competition is scheduled for February eighth when they travel to La Crosse for Mark Guthrie Legacy Invite.
