The Milwaukee women’s swimming and diving team secured a decisive victory against Stevens Point, winning all 13 swimming events in their final dual meet of the season. The Panthers finished with a score of 198-68, marking a successful end to their dual meet season with a record of 4-1.

Erika Thomas was instrumental in the team’s success, achieving victories in three events. She claimed her first win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.52, followed by another win in the 200 individual medley at 2:08.72. Thomas completed her trio of wins in the 500 freestyle, finishing at 5:07.69.

Mara Freeman excelled in backstroke events, winning both the 100 and 200 backstroke races with times of 58.26 and 2:09.28, respectively.

Gabrielle LePine maintained her unbeaten streak in breaststroke competitions this season, posting winning times of 1:02.97 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:20.65 in the 200 breaststroke.

Carly Plate narrowly defeated teammate Janelle Schulz to win the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.33 seconds. Schulz later won the 100 freestyle by clocking in at 53.85 seconds.

Natalie DiProspero topped the field in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.50, while Maddi Hayashi concluded the individual wins for Milwaukee by finishing first in the 100 butterfly at 58.63 seconds.

Milwaukee also triumphed in both relay events, starting with a victory in the opening event, the 200 medley relay (1:46.17), and concluding with a win in the closing event, the 400 freestyle relay (3:36.39).

Head coach Kyle Clements expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance as they prepare for upcoming competitions: “Great way to end our dual meet season… I was very happy to see that the overall result carried over from last weekend.”

Looking ahead, Clements noted that “the next time we race these events they will be even better,” as they anticipate competing at the Wisconsin First Chance Meet on February 7-8 before heading to Madison for their final preparation ahead of the Horizon League Championships scheduled for February 19-22.
