The Milwaukee women’s tennis team concluded a challenging series of matches with a defeat against Northwestern at the Combe Tennis Center in Evanston, Illinois. The Panthers, holding a 4-6 record, faced off against the Wildcats, who have an impressive history of reaching the NCAA Tournament for 22 consecutive seasons.

Head coach Mark Goldin commented on the experience: “It was a great experience to play against the number nine team in the country, we fought hard.” He added that the team is looking forward to their first weekend off of the season to recover and prepare mentally for upcoming conference games.

Northwestern secured victory by winning both doubles and singles matches. The Wildcats also defeated UIC earlier in the day, marking head coach Claire Pollard’s 600th career win.

The Panthers will have time to recuperate before their next match on March 1 at home against Western Illinois. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at River Glen Elite.

Northwestern triumphed over Milwaukee with a score of 7-0. In singles competition, Erica Jessel defeated Nadiia Konieva; Sydney Pratt overcame Nikola Nikolajeva; Kiley Rabjohns won against Laure Razet; Neena Feldman beat Emilia Durska; Autumn Rabjohns triumphed over Elisa Rubio; and Jennifer Riester defeated Honoka Yamashita. In doubles competition, Neena Feldman and Kiley Rabjohns secured victory over Emilia Durska and Laure Razet, while Britany Lau and Katya Shepherd Johnson won against Giorgia Cavestro and Elisa Rubio.
