Daniel Ibarra, a senior goalkeeper for the Milwaukee men’s soccer team, has been recognized as the Horizon League Under Armour Defensive Player of the Week. This announcement was made by the league office earlier today.
This honor marks Ibarra’s second league recognition both this season and throughout his career. His performance was highlighted by a crucial shutout, his fourth of the season, in a narrow 1-0 win against Cleveland State. During this match, Ibarra made three significant saves, including a vital stop in the 87th minute from a backheel shot that secured the victory for his team.
This accolade is also notable as it represents the fourth instance this season that members of the team have received such honors. Previously, Ibarra and Asher Ozuzu were awarded on October 9th, while Alejandro Martinez was recognized on August 26th.
