Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) is hosting an event titled “A Morning of Montessori” to showcase its Montessori education offerings. This open house aims to provide insight into the Montessori method, which emphasizes hands-on learning and exploration for children from K3 to grade 12.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Edward A. MacDowell Montessori School located at 6415 W. Mt. Vernon Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53213. It is intended for both new families interested in enrolling their children and current families who wish to learn more about their children’s educational progression.
Milwaukee Public Schools boasts eight Montessori schools, one of the largest collections in the United States, including the only K-12 public Montessori school in the nation. Additionally, MPS offers Riley Dual Language Montessori School, noted as Wisconsin’s only bilingual (English/Spanish) Montessori institution.
Families attending the event can enroll their children on-site for Fall 2025 admissions. The event will also provide free childcare services for school-age children while parents and guardians explore the various activities and information sessions available.
