Oak Creek High School welcomed most students in 2024-25 school year

Oak Creek High School had the highest enrollment among Milwaukee County schools, welcoming 2,220 students during the 2024-25 academic year, according to a report from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2024-25 school year, 52.8% identified themselves as boys, and 47.2% as girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were Asian, accounting for 85.8% of the Oak Creek High School’s total enrollment.

Among the 257 schools in Milwaukee County, HAPA-Hmong American Peace Academy K3-12 ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,974 students, while Franklin High School welcomed 1,605 students and ranked third in the 2024-25 school year.

Oak Creek High School is a part of the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District, which roughly covers schools within Milwaukee County with its main office in Oak Creek.

In the previous school year, Oak Creek High School also had the highest number of students among Milwaukee County schools.

In 2022, the teacher-to-student ratio was approximately 1:14 in Wisconsin classrooms, compared to the national average of 1:16.

Wisconsin ranks 22nd in the U.S. for public education spending, with an annual expenditure of over $16,500 per pupil, totaling $13.8 billion.
