Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin who secured re-election in 2022 by defeating Mandela Barnes, recently posted several statements on his official Twitter account addressing Senate procedures, vaccine injuries, and military policies.

On July 29, 2025, Johnson criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s handling of the confirmation process. He stated: “Chuck Schumer destroyed Senate comity and is leading unprecedented obstruction of the confirmation process. Republicans should fix what Schumer broke and allow @POTUS to staff his administration.”

Later that same day, Johnson turned his attention to concerns about vaccine injuries and federal compensation systems. He wrote: “Vaccine injuries are real, and those suffering have been abandoned. I applaud @SecKennedy for acknowledging these issues and working to overhaul the deeply broken federal compensation system. It’s time to right these unconscionable wrongs.”

On July 31, 2025, Johnson commented on the dismissal of service members related to COVID-19 vaccination requirements: “Dismissing thousands of service members for refusing the experimental COVID-19 shot was an unwarranted act that damaged our military. Thankfully, @POTUS and @SecDef have taken steps to right this wrong, but some troops are still fighting for their rights. I’ve asked”

Senator Johnson has a history of close electoral victories in Wisconsin; he defeated Russ Feingold in both 2016 and 2010 before winning against Mandela Barnes in 2022 with a narrow margin of just over one percent.
