Sen. Mary Felzkowski, a Republican representing Wisconsin’s 12th Senate district since 2021, raised concerns on social media about the funding of environmental attorneys within the Wisconsin Department of Justice and called for increased transparency from state officials.

On February 25, 2026, Felzkowski posted several statements regarding this issue. In one post she wrote: “Josh Kaul. Michael Bloomberg. NYU. Too many unanswered questions. The Senate is stepping in. @SenTomczyk https://t.co/sYlnnN2T4A” (posted at 14:34 UTC). Later that day, she emphasized the need for openness by stating: “It’s always the right time for transparency, especially from WI’s “Top Cop” Josh Kaul https://t.co/bgm5GQRoM5” (posted at 23:09 UTC).

Felzkowski also alleged outside influence in the hiring practices of Wisconsin’s Department of Justice, writing: “Michael Bloomberg is funding environmental attorneys in Wisconsin’s Department of Justice. No authorization by the Legislature, yet they use the full power of DOJ https://t.co/rnCzlPVnBA” (posted at 23:18 UTC).

Mary Felzkowski succeeded Tom Tiffany in representing northern Wisconsin’s 12th Senate district after her election to the State Senate in 2021.
