Sen. Patrick Testin has announced the enactment of a new law he authored, aimed at preventing fraudulent activity within the Wisconsin Unclaimed Property system.
On March 23, 2026, Testin posted: “I am pleased the governor has signed into law my bill that focuses on preventing fraudulent activity within the Wisconsin Unclaimed Property system. Since 1970, the state has been statutorily required to hold on to abandoned or forgotten financial assets until they can be”.
The following day, March 24, 2026, Testin provided additional information for constituents seeking to determine if they have unclaimed property held by the state Department of Revenue. He wrote: “Yesterday, I wrote about a new state law I authored that aims to prevent fraud within the Wisconsin Unclaimed Property system. Piggybacking off that post, I want to help you find out whether you have any unclaimed property being held by the state Department of Revenue.”
Later on March 24, Testin also expressed his appreciation for agricultural workers in Wisconsin with a brief message: “Thank you, Wisconsin farmers.”
Testin is a Republican who was elected to represent Wisconsin’s 24th Senate district in 2017, succeeding Howard Marklein.
