Sen. Patrick Testin, a Republican representing Wisconsin’s 24th Senate district, has recently shared several updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding state education leadership changes, legislative discussions, and the responsibilities of lawmakers.
On April 7, 2026, Sen. Testin posted: “Just moments ago, the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents terminated the employment of UW President Jay Rothman. Please click on the picture below to read my full statement.”
The following day, April 8, 2026, he announced an interview: “My latest monthly interview with Pam Jahnke of the Mid-West Farm Report is now available for your listening pleasure. For the April edition, we spoke about the governor vetoing legislation that attempted to freeze fee increases for livestock licenses. Another topic of discussion”
On April 9, 2026, Sen. Testin commented on legislative duties by drawing a sports analogy: “In sports, it is often said that the best offense is a good defense. The same holds true for the Wisconsin State Legislature. While a lawmaker’s main role is writing and passing bills, another important part of our job is stopping bad or harmful policies from advancing through”
Sen. Testin was elected to the Wisconsin State Senate in 2017 and succeeded Howard Marklein as representative for District 24.
