On Monday, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin joined Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa and all Senate Republicans in a resolution condemning Hamas, advocating for the safe return of American hostages, and reaffirming support for Israel. This action marks one year since Iran-backed Hamas launched an attack on Israel, resulting in approximately 1,200 deaths and 251 hostages taken. Currently, 97 hostages remain missing, including seven Americans.

The resolution emphasizes the senators’ commitment to “an outcome that ensures the forever survival of Israel; the complete denial of the ability of Hamas to reconstitute in the region, and the safe release of United States hostages from the Gaza Strip.”
