Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin who has won three consecutive U.S. Senate elections since 2010, recently posted a series of tweets addressing concerns about federal oversight and law enforcement.
On October 10, 2025, Johnson called for increased transparency from federal agencies regarding alleged surveillance of Republican lawmakers. He wrote, “Full transparency from the FBI and DOJ will be required to expose who approved and knew about the snooping on 9 Republican members of Congress. The tweet referenced a formal request made by Johnson, Senator Chuck Grassley, and other senators seeking information from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Later that day, Johnson commented on the work of media personality Benny Johnson. Senator Ron Johnson has held his seat since defeating Russ Feingold in both the 2010 (51.9% to 47%) and 2016 (50.2% to 46.8%) general elections, as well as Mandela Barnes in the closely contested 2022 race (50.4% to 49.4%).
