On June 19, 2025, Senator Johnson shared his views on the House bill in relation to deficit reduction. He stated that “As outlined in my Budget Reconciliation Report, the House bill will not reduce the deficit — the numbers simply don’t support that claim.” He further stressed this moment as a critical opportunity to balance the federal budget and reset spending priorities, asserting that there is an urgent need to address what he describes as “the enormous mess that Biden” has created.
