Senator Ron Johnson, a Republican from Wisconsin, posted several messages on his official Twitter account in March 2026 addressing the character of Senator Markwayne Mullin and advocating for changes to Senate procedures.

On March 18, 2026, Johnson wrote, “It’s important for Americans to see the human side of people who serve our nation.

@SenMullin demonstrated that today with a powerful personal story.”

Later that day, he continued his praise for Mullin, stating on March 19, 2026: “.@SenMullin is a man of integrity who will do a great job as secretary of Homeland Security.

He has reached across the aisle and built strong relationships with members of both parties in the House and Senate.

Those relationships will be important as secretary of Homeland”

In another post made early on March 19, Johnson commented on Senate rules regarding the filibuster: “The last time Democrats had the chance to end the filibuster, all but two supported doing so.

Voters from both parties overwhelmingly favor ending the filibuster.

We should end it now so we can secure our elections, protect the border, and get the debt under control.”

Ron Johnson has served as U.S. Senator since first winning election in 2010 against Russ Feingold. He was re-elected in both 2016 and 2022 after defeating Feingold again and then Mandela Barnes respectively.
