The Milwaukee Brewers are having a successful season, especially their pitcher.
While fans are still unsure if the team can live up to the 1982 roster and make it to the World Series, this year’s Brewers team has been smashing records.
"The Milwaukee Brewers have thrown their first no-hitter since 1987! It finally happened," Megan Schroeder said in a post to her Twitter account on Sept. 11.
The Brewer’s pitcher, Corbin Burnes, has been playing unbelievably well, holding out over the Cleveland Indians on Sept. 12 and throwing 14 strikeouts. Additionally, the Brewers have actually been playing better on the road away from home than at their own stadium this season. An article on MLB.com described a National League Central title for the Brewers as a "formality" given the large lead the team has over their other rivals in the division.
The MLB.com article also stated that there was an argument to be made that this was the best ever Brewers team due to their being a team record 34 games over 500. In their most recent series against Cleveland, the Brewers scored 24 runs while only giving up seven hits over the course of three games. Burnes has been one of the team's breakout stars, he has not lost since May 25 and tied the Major League record for consecutive strikeouts with 10 in a game against the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 11, according to an article from U.S. News and World Report.
