American Academy of Emergency Medicine Political Action Committee Aaem PAC issued the following announcement on Sept. 15
Today, we are highlighting AAEM member Dr. León D. Sánchez, Chief of Emergency Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Here's what Dr. Sánchez has to say about his leadership in EM:
"I grew up in Puerto Rico and came to the US for college and have been here since. I am the only doctor in my family and have striven during my career to provide those junior to me with resources, opportunities, and connections that may not have been easily accessible to them. Opportunities for advancement are often dependent on where you are and who you know and providing a network of connections as well as preparing people to take advantage of new opportunities is important for the development of new faculty and leaders.
