Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference issued the following announcement on Oct. 19
Aurora University's James Mautino (special teams), Lakeland University's Shazon Crutcher (defense), and Wisconsin Lutheran College's Justin Parbs (offense) have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Football Student-Athletes of the Week for games played October 16, 2021. The honors were selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.
NACC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Justin Parbs, Wisconsin Lutheran College
Parbs, a senior running back from Brookfield, Wisconsin, racked up 280 yards of offense and four touchdowns in the Warriors' 49-41 win at Rockford. He rushed 26 times for a career-high 184 yards and three touchdowns (47, 11, and 19 yards). Parbs also caught six passes for a career-high 96 yards and a 7-yard touchdown. It was Parbs' second 100-yard rushing game in the last three weeks.
NACC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Shazon Crutcher, Lakeland University
Crutcher, a senior linebacker from Lansing, Michigan, returned a second-quarter interception 25 yards for a touchdown in the Muskies' 63-7 win at Concordia Chicago. It was the first of three defensive touchdowns for Lakeland. He also tied for the team lead with five tackles (four solos) in a little more than two quarters of play.
NACC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
James Mautino, Aurora University
Mautino, a junior wide receiver from Spring Valley, Illinois, had a fantastic night in the return game for Aurora in the Spartans' 49-7 win over Eureka. He had two punt returns for 87 yards with a long of 55 yards and a 20-yard kickoff return. Both punt returns set up Aurora scores. He also made one catch in the game for a 34-yard touchdown.
