On September 6, 2024, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner, Dr. Robert Califf, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director, Dr. Mandy Cohen. In the letter, Sen. Johnson urged these agencies to examine recent data from the Czech Republic that suggests an increase in all-cause mortality (ACM) linked to the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (Spikevax) over a 12-month period following vaccination.

The report detailing this data was initially pre-published on July 17, 2024, by Steve Kirsch. Kirsch obtained the information through a public records request and subsequently translated and reviewed the official Czech government data on COVID-19 vaccines administered in the country. Diagnostic pathologist Dr. Clare Craig also conducted an analysis of the Czech data, supporting its findings with several key points:

"The mortality rate was lower for Pfizer in every age group; The mortality rate was lower for every month of injection; and The mortality rate was lower for every period of death."

Dr. Craig emphasized that there was no systemic or systematic bias by brand in the Czech Republic.

Senator Johnson has not only called for a review of this data but also requested additional information from the FDA and CDC regarding mortality rates associated with both Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.

Further details about Senator Johnson’s September 4, 2024 letter can be found in Daily Signal.
