On January 27, 2025, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin introduced the Guidance Out Of Darkness (GOOD) Act along with 14 Senate colleagues. This proposed legislation mandates federal agencies to publish their regulatory guidance online in an easily accessible format. The objective is to ensure that entities affected by regulations—such as small businesses, workers, and households—are fully informed of requirements necessary for compliance.

Senator Johnson was supported by Senators Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.), and James Risch (R-Idaho).
