Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) is reaching out to families and community members for assistance in selecting new textbooks for world language courses. The district aims to gather feedback on resources for American Sign Language, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish languages.
Participants will have the option to review sample textbooks online or view them in person at South Division High School or North Division High School by scheduling an appointment. Feedback will be collected through an online survey available from February through April.
"The advisory groups will not be a final decision-making body but will offer suggestions as to which textbooks they believe would best support student learning," MPS stated.
The feedback gathered from these advisory groups will be sent to the MPS Curriculum Specialist Committee. Ultimately, the Milwaukee Board of School Directors will make the final recommendations based on these insights.
Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up through provided links for family and community members. For any questions, Ja’Quita Murphy can be contacted at murphyj1@milwaukee.k12.wi.us.
