Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) has opened enrollment for kindergarten for the Fall 2025 school year. Families are encouraged to apply early to secure their preferred school choice, as some schools may reach capacity quickly.

The district offers Chromebooks to all students and provides free breakfast and lunch. Licensed teachers aim to create supportive learning environments, while staff are available to assist families with resources throughout their child's academic journey.

With nearly 160 schools, MPS provides various programs including half- and full-day kindergarten, neighborhood and specialty schools, Montessori, language immersion, bilingual education, special education, arts and music programs, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), among others. Families have the option to select a neighborhood school or other schools across the city.

Applications must be submitted by March 17, 2025. Wisconsin law mandates that children complete five-year-old kindergarten before entering first grade.
