Ten members of the Milwaukee Panthers indoor track and field teams were recognized on Mar. 19 with Valeo Horizon League All-Academic honors, according to an announcement from the Horizon League office.
The recognition highlights the academic achievements of student-athletes who balance rigorous coursework with athletic commitments. The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Track and Field Team supports student-athletes in balancing academics and athletics, according to the official website.
On the men’s team, Cullen Boyle and Karsten Grundahl received All-Academic honors, while Lucas Picco and Zac Schmidt earned honorable mention distinctions. Boyle, an architecture major with a 3.88 GPA, was previously named to both the 2025 Indoor and Outdoor All-Academic teams. Grundahl, a finance major maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA, contributed to the championship-winning 4×400 relay team at the Horizon League Indoor Championships and finished second in the 800-meter run.
For the women’s team, Isabel Roloff (accounting), Anna Szepieniec (kinesiology), Olivia VanZeeland (kinesiology), and Kallie Volk (kinesiology) were honored for their academic performance. Victoria Evtimov (neuroscience) and Angelica Refinski (kinesiology) received honorable mentions. Szepieniec was also recognized as the 2026 Alfreeda Goff Women’s Athlete of the Year.
The Milwaukee Panthers Men’s Track and Field Team participates in both indoor and outdoor meets during each season as part of NCAA Division I competition within the Horizon League, according to the official website. The program is affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and contributes to its athletic tradition while operating from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Looking ahead, “The Panthers look forward to their first outdoor meet of the season, the Raleigh Relays,” which will be hosted by NC State at Dail Track Complex from March 26-28.
