Wisconsin Lutheran College announced on Mar. 30 that Alex Allister, a 2010 graduate with a degree in Business Administration, has been named the college’s featured alumnus for April 2026.
Allister is currently the Senior Director of Finance at Erin Hills Golf Course. He said one of his most memorable experiences as a student was during his senior football season: “I would relive my senior football season when we beat Hope College for the first and only time in program history. The game was a milestone win for the program given that Hope was a perennial power.”
Reflecting on those who influenced him at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Allister credited Coach Dennis Miller and several professors for their impact. “Coach Dennis Miller (pictured) – the Lord was strongly connected to the football program through prayer, devotions, and the way Coach Miller and his assistant coaches spoke and carried themselves. Ultimately, he was a strong leader who truly cared for his players, and he is the absolute foundation of Warriors football,” Allister said.
He also acknowledged Prof. Heather Stelzer and Prof. Dan Eastman for shaping his approach to business finance and strategy during his studies. Since graduation, Allister noted career achievements including multiple promotions at Erin Hills Golf Course while hosting major golf events such as the 2017 U.S. Open and upcoming 2025 U.S. Women’s Open.
Allister offered advice to current students about investing early: “My advice would be to watch more investment-focused programs and begin investing in the stock market more aggressively… Long-term investing offers a far more favorable risk-reward profile.” He added that media programs like Fox Business’s Making Money with Charles Payne have helped improve his financial returns over time.
Wisconsin Lutheran College supports 18 varsity sports in NCAA Division III competition according to its official website.
