Wisconsin Lutheran College held its annual Honors Convocation on April 30, recognizing students from a wide range of academic programs with scholarships and special awards.
The event highlights the college’s commitment to academic excellence and Christian values, according to the official website. Students were honored for their achievements in fields such as biology, business, communication, education, English, history, mathematics, music, nursing, physics, political science, psychology, sport and exercise science, theatre and leadership.
Among the awards presented were the Herbert O. Fleischer Memorial Scholarship for outstanding sophomore biology majors and the Cheri Metzger Women in Business Scholarship for junior or senior female business students. Other recognitions included honors in mathematics and music as well as scholarships supporting future leaders in nursing and psychology. Several students also received certificates for Christian leadership.
Rev. Dr. Wade Johnston served as faculty speaker at the convocation. The ceremony included presentations by faculty members who acknowledged not only academic achievement but also servant leadership within campus life and beyond.
Wisconsin Lutheran College supports 18 varsity sports in NCAA Division III competition according to the official website.
