Wright State leads seeding as Horizon League men’s basketball tournament bracket announced

Wright State has secured the top seed in the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men’s Basketball Championship, following a 15-5 record in conference play and a 20-11 overall season. The team concluded its regular season at Northern Kentucky and will host a First Round game on March 4 against the winner of the Play-In.

Robert Morris University (RMU) is the No. 2 seed after finishing with a 13-7 league record and an overall mark of 21-10, following a win over Cleveland State. RMU will face Youngstown State at home on March 4, having already beaten them twice this season.

Detroit Mercy earned the No. 3 seed with a 12-8 conference record and will play Milwaukee in their First Round matchup on March 4. Detroit Mercy won both regular-season games against Milwaukee.

Oakland also finished with a 12-8 league record and is seeded fourth. They will host Northern Kentucky, whom they defeated twice during the regular season.

Green Bay, as the fifth seed, will play Purdue Fort Wayne on March 3 due to scheduling adjustments for women’s basketball at their venue. Green Bay has won both matchups against Purdue Fort Wayne this year.

The championship opens with a Play-In contest between Cleveland State (No. 10) and IU Indianapolis (No. 11) on March 2 in Cleveland. All games are available through ESPN networks; early rounds stream on ESPN+, semifinals air on ESPNU and ESPN2, while the final is broadcast on ESPN.

The concluding rounds—including second round, semifinals, and championship—will take place at Corteva Coliseum from March 8 to March 10 in Indianapolis. Ticket information is available at HorizonLeague.com/Indy.

Additional events around the tournament include interactive activities at Valeo Fan Zone near Corteva Coliseum, Anthem School Day for local students during the women’s championship game, and KeyBank International Women’s Day Celebration featuring women leaders from Indianapolis.

The Horizon League consists of eleven NCAA Division I member institutions based in Indianapolis that support nearly four thousand student-athletes across various cities.
