Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) is praising the Milwaukee Bucks for making it into the NBA Finals.
The basketball team secured its spot in the annual championship series by defeating the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals July 3 with a score of 118-107, according to Wisconsin Public Radio.
“On to the #NBAFinals,” Baldwin wrote in a July 4 Twitter post. “Go @Bucks! #FearTheDeer.”
This is the team’s first time to the finals since 1974. The Bucks last NBA Finals win came in 1971, ESPN reported.
While Khris Middleton was key in getting the team to the finals, it is Giannis Antetokounmpo that people predict will be vital to winning against the Phoenix Suns. He is a two-time MVP and was previously named a Defensive Player of the Year.
ESPN believes the Milwaukee Bucks may not win if Antekokounmpo is sidelined or limited due to injuries like when he had a serious fall during Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals which led to them losing. The Suns have never won an NBA championship.
The 2021 NBA Finals start tonight Tuesday, July 6 and is expected to last four games until July 14 with three additional games occurring July 17 through July 22 if necessary.
