Next Door, a Milwaukee early childhood education organization, is proud to be celebrating 30 years of fulfilling their mission, which is to bring educational services to children in lower income areas with less access to quality education.

The organization routinely raises money in order to give more access to children who lack common learning resources.

“Next Door is an inspiring organization that's promoting reading literacy in our community. During the pandemic, too many of our kids missed out on quality in-person early childhood education. I’m glad Next Door is paving the way to close the learning gap,” Sen. Chris Larson tweeted.

The work that the organization is doing is an important step toward a smaller education gap as children from lower-income homes often lack access to educational resources.

One of the group’s programs is Books for Kids, which is a library and mobile library that helps to encourage literacy in children. The organization is asking that individuals who would like to contribute donate books as they gear up to resume normal activities following COVID-19.

In 2022, Next Door has set the goal of raising $50,000, which will allow them to restock their library and give away nearly 40,000 books to children who are underprivileged.
