Jet In will break ground at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE), beginning an $11 million project focused on sustainability, the aviation company announced in a Sept. 23 press release.

The goal is to be proactive to the market’s need to return to business as usual while also managing the risk to the employees, the release states.

"Services like those provided by Jet In and Jet Out are more essential than ever. As we continue to adjust to a post-pandemic world, general aviation provides solutions for individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses, sporting teams and other institutions seeking to manage risk and adapt their operations to a new reality. Jet In and Jet Out are proud to meet this need," CEO Joseph Crivello said in the release.

According to the release, the airport located at 504 E Citation Way will be the base for the last greenfield parcel. Its design will include electric towing equipment and heated hangars, in compliance with MKE’s Green Infrastructure Plan.

The plan, implemented in 2019, is largely centered around capturing stormwater to improve quality and reduce pollution in stormwater runoff, the city website states.

MKE’s new facility will cater to general, private and semi-private aviation. Crivello told the Biztimes the ways in which people want to travel have changed post COVID-19, leading to a rise of interest in private and semi-private modes of transportation.
