Milwaukee police are stepping up their search for Emily Rogers after concluding “there is reasonable suspicion” to believe her disappearance may not be voluntary.

Rogers was reported missing on May 1, and police with dogs recently searched the Burnham Park area after a close friend of hers told authorities she found Rogers’ phone in bushes near 36th and Branting, less than a half-mile from that location.

The friend also told investigators that Burnham Park was the last place Roger's boyfriend was seen. Rogers was last seen near her home in the area of 25th and Becher.

Fox6Now.com reports that Rogers parents recently arrived in Milwaukee from Texas to help search, and are now pleading for someone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.

"It’s cold outside," Ammie Rogers said. "If she’s somewhere outside, she’s probably cold and hungry."

Police tape also recently surrounded Rogers’ home, where a detective was also seen getting surveillance footage from a nearby convenience store. Beyond that, police have been tight-lipped about the case, though Ammie Rogers credits them with being as open as they can be

"I’m going to assume they have some leads, but they’re not going to tell us because they don’t want us to mess up the investigation," she added.

Signs now blanket the Muskego Way neighborhood, asking for information about Rogers.

"I just hope she’s safe somewhere," Ammie Rogers said. "We need all the help we can get, finding someone to help us."

Rogers’ mother, father and friends recently conducted their own search, and Ammie Rogers reflecting on the last time she spoke with her daughter.

"Me begging her to come home because she has family that needs her, misses her and wants her in Texas where it’s safe," she said.

Emily Rogers' young daughter was found safe by police and is in the custody of Rogers' family. Rogers is described as being 5'5" tall, weighing 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Milwaukee police of if they wish to remain anonymous to contact Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS.
